The New Rat Race

The results are in!

This month the leader of our digital world is….FACEBOOK.

Do you ever wonder what the person sitting opposite you is looking at on their phone? Is it the latest news article in the form of a newspaper publishing site or is it a recipe to make enchiladas when they get home tonight? Now while enchiladas deserve all the praise in the world, chances are that they’re looking at Facebook.

Vivid Social – Social Media Agency, compiled their monthly data and found that 17,000,000 Australians use Facebook at least once a month, while 12,000,000 of those use Facebook on a daily basis – That’s close on 50% of the population if you want some perspective.

Please remember, not everything in life is a competition but if you want to know the podium places for the month of April here they are:

25. Periscope – 9,000
26. Delicious – 8,000

I’m not just going to give you a list without giving you my opinion, so here are some interesting points you may want to think about…

  • Instagram reached 700 million users in April (700,000,000) which is a lot of zeros on any social media platform.
  • MySpace is number 18 – this is not particularly important but there are still 80,000 individuals stuck in 2002
  • TripAdvisor gets more monthly users than Tinder and that gives me immense amounts of hope for the future.

So let us know below which social media you use on a daily basis.
